'T' is for Truck

In an earlier post the three 'Ts'; Truck, Trailer and Tools task lists were described. The tasks are not getting checked off quickly enough, but at least the Truck list is getting very short. Preparing for this trip has given us motivation to catch up on some needed truck maintenance items and to accessorize (like the stereo upgrade). Keep reading for an example of each:

The truck has spent almost 10 years outside.  The headlamp lenses were looking pretty bad, not yet a safety issue, but not a good situation.  With a restoration kit and an afternoon of wet and dry sanding and polishing things were greatly improved.

Since we will be packing tools and other things in the truck bed there is a need to secure the space as best we can. After considering options a one piece hard and locking tonneau cover made by Undercover was chosen.  The installation went well with some assistance from granddaughter Sophia. Although the various roll up/fold up type tonneau covers are convenient the solid cover has the advantage of securing the tail gate, which in our truck did not come equipped with a lock.

  2. The soft tonneau is rolled up and in the corner of the garage. It still has some use left in it. Anyone with a 3rd generation Dodge RAM with 6 foot bed need a vinyl tonneau cover?
