Entering Alberta, Canada

It was a short drive from Conrad, MT to the Port of Sweetwater at the Canadian border. We paused in Sweetwater to make some calls to our banks to let them know of our travel plans so the fraud alerts wouldn't be triggered as we made purchases across the border.  While in a store in Sweetwater Jan found 'Artie' Fox our new mascot.  He now rides shotgun or minds the trailer in our absence.

We live near the southern end of the I-15.  If you have ever wondered what was at the other end here is the answer.

At the crossing we were questioned by a nice young Canadian who enquired about our plans, how long we would be staying, how much cash we were bringing in, and especially if we had any fire arms.  We apparently gave the correct answers and were waved through.  Many in the lanes in front and around us were instead directed to an inspection area,  When this happens your stay at the crossing can be several hours and this usual involves being asked to slowly open boxes and cabinets which might contain firearms.  In our case we quickly went our merry way.

  1. The mascot is a worthy traveling companion and now I know where the I15 ends.
